Summers offers rising third graders a fantastic opportunity to begin exploring chapter books! Without the pressure of schoolwork, developing readers can enjoy leisurely reading, and their literacy skills will flourish at this age.  You will see the difference in the fall!

Children continue to benefit from being read to, as it exposes them to a wide range of stories and vocabulary. This practice not only fosters bonding but also facilitates access to more challenging books. If a book proves too demanding for independent reading but your child is eager to explore it, consider incorporating it into your bedtime routine as a read-aloud session. This approach allows them to enjoy the story while also strengthening their listening skills and comprehension.
