Not Evalyn! Is the true story of Evalyn Sintoya, a young girl who is told she is not allowed to go to school. In her village, only boys are allowed to go to school. Girls must stay with their mothers and learn to care for their families. Evalyn is heart-broken, until she decides she will do whatever it takes to follow her dreams. However, her decision comes at great cost: she is exiled from her village at the young age of eight years old and must fight for her survival, and her right to go to school.
